Has anyone on the board ever or currently owned a Z31 300? I had an '85 2+2 5 speed model. Loved that car!!! When I drove the 91 max SE I'm getting in a couple of weeks it reminded me so much of my old Z!!! The VG felt and sounded almost exactly the same as the Z did, with the exception of slightly more power in the 5500-redline area in the Max. Must have been the 10lbs. of extra torque that I felt versus the 300's 172. Anyway, I can't wait to get the car. By the way, what does the VE motor in the 92-94 SE feel and sound like compared to the VG? Does it sound as deep as the VG? I haven't driven one.

Thanks!

Actually the difference in torque from the 3rd gen max and Z31 NA is in the lowend. But I do believe they have more torque past 5500 because our intake and 50mm TB are too small. Now as for the VE compared to the VG its different from what I heard. Now remember how you feel the power loss past 5500, well this doesn't happen in a VE it pulls quickly to the redline. Its an engien that has a bottom end as strong as a VG30DETT. Also you might find out that the VG max is alittle quicker than your old Z31 is because its lighter.
