Brake Pads

What are the best brake pads on the market to use on my 3rd gen, and is there any special advice out there to change the pads out. I looked at the stickies and the job looked fairly easy. Any help will be much appreciated.

tks

best is a relative term.
do you care about noise? dust? longevity? price? rotor life?
how will they be used? track? street? grandma driving?

I get your point. Definitely low noise, rotor life and longevity are the front runners. Dust and price aren't issues. I will mainly be doring normal street driving.

I have the duralast cheap-o's on mine. (~$20 from Autozone). They come with a lifetime warranty so you only need to buy one set then just trade em back in. If I were you I'd go with the duralast Golds and spend a few extra dollars. They are a FAR supperior pad than the regulars. Otherwise get a set of ceramics for ~$40. But whatever you do stay far away the Valucraft pads. In fact dont buy ANYTHING with valucraft on the box. You putting your life in danger with those, unless you like organic pads and stopping like a train.

yea i have the benix on my car. they are nice pads. for the price paid you cant go wrong with just street driving. i just like the amount of break dust and with our stock rims. it gets traped in there. you should definalty try the bendix pads. internetautomar had them on his site. you should think about getting the brembo blanks also. i have those 2 on my car and i am happy with the results and i have a habbit of steping on the breaks.

Rotor Life is important, noise is somewhat of an issue. Mostly is not fading when hot.

Ok,

Bendix organic gets the nod, how hard is it to change the pads for the front and rear?

I'm also in the market for front pads on my 90SE. I'm a moderate to hard driver. Dust and noise are a major concern because I get lazy when it comes to cleaning my rims. I do want to be able to stop on a dime when those idiots cut in front of me. Originally, I was going to get EBC Greenstuff; $54 at Pep Boys. Do organics really suck when it comes to stopping power?

I got mine at work for 20 bucks and lifetime warranty so I can also exchange them once they're gone. I'm thinking of paying a few extra bucks and getting Bosch pads once my Morse are gone cuz they make some noise, peple told me its because I didnt put grease in back of the pads and only on the the caliper guidepins...any feedback on Bosch semimetalics?

Semi Metallics will tear up stock rotors. Nissan used relatively soft material for our rotors. Found this out the fun way. Of course if you want you change those out for my Brembo slots... I'll be changing them out later today.
