Fuel Injector Removal

I've just pulled my fuel injector rails on the '92 SE and thought I'd had good luck in finding the correct foot and a half long Phillips head screwdriver to unscrew the injector caps.
However getting the injectors out of the fuel rail is another story. I thought that once you get the metal caps off the injectors should just twist from the rail, however I can twist them, but they ain't coming out. They are very happy where they've been the last fourteen years and seem to be adverse to change. Any ideas on how to encourage them to get on with thier lives and leave the security of the fuel rail (say explosives)?

If you are replacing the injectors, then get physical with them..

Some pb blaster on them will probably help....

Getting Physical with Injectors

Won't this damage the nozzles? I was hoping to inspect them and reuse, if possible. Is there a special tool for removal?

Or just buy my injectors that already have been flowed by RC Engineering and are already in the rail

There are various ways. I always used a small flathead screwdriver(2 of them). Pry one side of the injector out and spray WD40 down the crevice. Work it around a bit. Then pry it up again. Then use the other and work your way around the injector until it pops out.

Will all the problems with these injectors, has anybody found any other injectors that would be a suitable replacement. Even if it means splicing harness connectors in? Any other Nissan vehicles have a similar shape / flow rate? I'm just wondering....
