91 se rear maxima section

on my 91 se, the black trim right above the word maxima on the rear is peeling off and it's revealing the chrome. I want to make it black again, how would i go upon doing so? just spray paint it black or what...right now i used black electrical tape to cover up the chrome part. any suggestings greatly appreciated

i would paint it myself. but anytime you paint anything, prep the surface. wipe it with something to remove oil films and i would rub it with a medium steel wool to rough up the surface to help the paint stick.

i don't know if there is a special paint for this, but any exterior paint should work. i beleive in using primer, but a lot of people say i'm crazy, so you pick one.
