Running on 5......

Well my VE went down to 5 cylinders, came back to 6 for about 4 hours, then down to 5 again for the last 2 days. The one located right under the oil cap went out (2, I think??) Checked coils, they were good. Swapped in different ones to make sure.

I jumped to the conclusion it was injectors. Put the entire front fuel rail off of my 93 VE parts car, and it ran great. This morning I went out, and the same cylinder is not fireing again.

Did a injector really go out overnight? In the same spot as before? The one thing I did not check was spark plug. Could that possibly cause this issue?

Thanks,
Geoff

I would check the spark plug first just to be sure. It's a lot cheaper to replace a bad spark plug, then to do a injector first only to find it was the plug

you needs a noid light.
it may be bad wiring
though when you replaced it with a USED one, it's possible that it was on it's way out too, not likely though

Ben, did you get your tranny parts? Also vans check your coils, I replaced MAF, O2, and was ready to do the knock when I decided to try coils. Problem fixed . Of course, I did have a complete parts car. I guess if your shelling out the money for parts, might want to investigate further than I did

Tranny? I don't remember ordering any tranny parts. I'm still waiting on my Koni struts though.
