Could be a bad master cylinder or leaking clutch hose.

.... Hmmm Interesting!! There was some fluid leaking. She was able to drive it back to where she was going, so I'll have to check it out. But she said it was some brownish fluid. Where is the clutch resovour? It's on the drivers side right?

More than likely it is a bad master cylinder. You can get the repair kit from your local parts store for under $20 and do it yourself in an hour if you are somewhat mechanically inclined. The master cylinder/reservour is on the firewall directly in front of the clutch pedal.

Hopefully it's only the slave cylinder. I've had alot of bad luck with 5 of them now. The very first time my pedal dropped I shattered my throw out bearing.

Just include a leaky clutch line and cover 100% of the bases.

You said she was able to drive the car after this incident? Your clutch is fine. If you needed a new clutch, you wouldn't have been going anywhere.

I would check into your master cylinder, and all other mentioned possible failures... And not let ANYONE drive it. Male, female, whatever. Only I know everything that's wrong or could potentially be wrong with my car. Driving it without taking some of those things into consideration will surely screw other stuff up
