Seafoam question
Seafoam question
I bought a can of seafoam today. it says to use the vacuum from the pcv valve hose to suck the foam into the engine or use the brake booster line. I want to use the pcv hose. the question is...what end of the hose do i use to suck the foam into the engine, do i use the side closest to the oil cap? I have a 1992 GXE

oh and "over rated" is one word.
when making such public insults, especially on this scale, you could at least try to bear some loose semblance of intelligence no matter how ignorant the comment.

I knew someone was going to say something like that. lol@ Wifey, calm down. This is the internet. Sarcasm > j00.

!
BTW, all the part stores here need to place special order anyway.

ANYWAY throw in some seafoam smoke up the neighbor hood and see if it makes your car any smoother.

when it costs almost 10 dollars to ship an audio harness - that's called poaching.
when you have to wait 3 - 5 days for delivery of a part vs driving to the parts guy who, if it isn't in stock will take about an hour to be delivered to him - that's called extended down time.
a word of caution here - someone made a rather offensive comment about Chrisitianity - I responded. then the comment was made about losing brain as a parts supplier. I am just pointing out the fact that it wouldn't be that great a loss - to me at least.
i think i've explained everything i've said. please feel free to pm me so as to not further fuel this discussion into something that might get ugly...well, at least uglier than mocking and discounting someone's religion.
o and seafoam totally rocks...but be careful with smoking up your neighborhood. some members of the board claim to have received tickets from the police
Brian has always shipped stuff I've ordered from him on time and with a great price. You seem to imply that your "part's guy" has everything in stock. No one does. Some things will have to be ordered regardless of where the order is entered. Might as well get great pricing at the same time. Most if not all performance parts for the maxima are not stocked. I'd be suprised if most parts people have even heard of performance stuff for the maxima much less have it in stock in 1 hour. VE30DE parts? I've found that we are on our own to wait for oem parts to come up from CA or the midwest. I use oem where possible.
If you need it right away, then yes, going local is good. I usually plan my repairs accordingly to take advantage of Brian's pricing. Emergency repairs are different. But I've only encountered those situations once or twice since having a maxima. In the meantime, I've saved hundreds if not close to a thousand shopping carefully online.

you can hydrolock an engine on ANY liquid.
Hydrolock just means that you tryed to COMPRESS a liquid (which can't compress) and it didn't so something has to give, normally a rod.
