Removing Resonator=More Grunt?

I read in a recent post that removing the resonator will give you a better sound and maybe more hp. How exactly is this done? Does anyone have pics? I know it was briefly explained in another post, but not sure if there's a difference between the vg and ve. I have a ve and would like to know how to do it.
Also, what is the resonator for in the first place?

From what i've read the resonator is the plastic box on the intake tubing. u need to cut it off then covor the small hole that lead into the box with a piece of that box and some apoxy. i have a vg and would like to see pics too. i want to look at it before I start cutting.

Are you talking about the air intake tube resonator, or the resonator on the exhaust system? In either case, HP increase is a debatable claim. However, the sound change is a definite and noticeable change. Resonator work by baffling the sound created by fast moving air movement (as in intake air coming in, or exhaust air coming out,) therefore, by removing it, the sounds will no longer "silenced" and thus the sound increase. Others more knowledgable are sure to chime in, and I make no claim that my answer is definitely correct.

I was referring to the intake tube resonator. How much louder will it be? It won't be ricer bees in a can loud will it?

Again, anyone have any pics for a ve (or a vg)? Any instructions? Thanks!

Removing the intake resonator will NOT give you any more power..It will just make your car louder, especially at wot...

Just remove the intake resonator and put a cap in it...Make sure it seals good..

Or you could just buy this one for $10..

are you going to keep posting asking the same thing until someone bans you?

there's ZERO gain from pulling the resonator off the stock intake tube. if you want the sound....go and buy an intake.

the resonator from the VG intake tube is not a round hole...so there's no point in cutting that off so hence no one will show you a pic. the lower resonators you can't even see and they can be removed fairly easy.
