need some z31 mod info

how's it goin all, i'm still a noob wen it comes to moddin, i have a 93 jdm ve, underdrive pully, lighten flywheel and a budget y pipe (from ontario) right now i have a custom CAI made from 3' exhaust piping, i read on a couple of signatures about a z31 mod, that works with a z31 maf sensor and z31 injectors. my guess is that u cant use the stock ecu. i thought that this mod would be for the vg motor and not the ve. can someone please help me out on what and how exactly this works, and what are the gains/benefits.

Why would you want to use the Z31 injectors?

Z31 mod is probably referring to the Z31 1" larger rear rotors for a rear bbk. I sell the brackets that allow you do do this. One set left btw

well in the second gens we use the same year maf and ecu and swap em into the max i dont think that iol work for the ve tho being a diff engine and all and i dont know of any ve30dett just vg30dett so it prolly wont work. i would look on ebay for jdm ve engine parts and youll prolly find what you need.

The Z31 MAF has four bolts on the bottom that mounts to a flange vice the 4 bolts on the adapter plate to bolt to the air box on our cars. I believe the Z31 MAF is the same size, but why one would put it on a VE, i couldn't say.

I belive all Nissan MAFs use the same voltage scale to convey air-flow rates, but I'm not sure that the scales they use are the same. Take a Sentra MAF for example. It's much smaller than ours (1.5" tubing I think) but when it max's out, it's sending the same amount of voltage as ours. So if you managed to find a way of hooking up a Sentra MAF, your ECU would assume theres 3 times as much air coming in as their really is and counter with more fuel. And you'd run really rich.

If you want to go find a Z31 MAF and try it out, go for it. Otherwise, I'm as anxious to hear a first-hand description of this "MOD" (and it's benefits) as you are.

you probably mean Z32... but unless you're running nitrous or boost, you don't need it at all. leave the MAF and injectors alone. they're good for about 250hp.

OK, so I have no experience with the Z32 MAF... what makes it better/different than ours?
