I would do it. I don't know about throwing in the laptop. It kind of depends on the Honda mods.

Properly swapped and modded Hondas make good race cars. Just make sure you have no wing, no stickers and no body kit on it.

which b18 is it?

coupe or hatch? If it's a 4 door, than forget about it.

There's not much use having two of the same car (Maxima) you might as well get a toy to beat up at the track and keep your Maxima from getting abuse.

thats teh listing of the civic......hes removed the wheels and taillights to lower the price....he seems to have alot of money in it, he tells me hes got about 11 grand in the car. doesnt seem liek a bad deal.

and the laptop is years old....like from 1998 or 99, with a pentium 3 in it. no loss as it was free to me for work.

also, i did decide to fix up the black max, i cant lose my baby, i love love love it, even with the damage <3 only need a windshield, fender, front door, side skirt (stillen), both taillights, and a rear quarter panel! (Seems like alot, but really it isnt, in my opinion.

Dude, forget it -- that car is a rice mobile.

If you had a clean hatch rolling chassis, maybe the engine, tranny and coilovers would be OK, but otherwise that thing is fugly.

yeah, most likely, but as for my girl havin a good car to drive, and slightly modded, i dont think she can complain...and no matter how ricey it is, its almost a steal with all the mods and the swap, IMHO.

Owning a Honda isn't bad, per se... but if you get that honda, you will be the laughing stock of the neighborhood for decades to come.

meh.. who cares? there's always a faster car... sometimes it's even a honda.

then again, my honda will never be winning any races... you can measure 0-60 times on this thing in decades.

I like the Element. A friend of mine has had two now (the first year and now an 06) and they are excellent vehicles. He has an AWD EX (both were the same) The reason he bought the new one was because it has the painted fenders. He said he never really liked the plastic look, although he did like the fact that it didn't show any rock chips. They are extremely utilitarian and well thought out, IMO, and they still get decent mpg. Much better than my Infiniti QX4 and essentially, it provides much of the same things.

buy some stock bumpers if you buy it. Id drive it home with the body kit IN the car. and the wing in the trunk as well. Modded hondas are decent cars when they are derice-ified.

The seller's including the stock bumpers too. I dont think its too bad of a deal if you take that "big" spoiler off car, put stock bumpers on, and get some nice 15's. You could sell the rice **** on ebay

hey, the element is a close second to the Scion xB for the box on wheels award! just kidding matt, i like the positive aspects of the element, and the Consumer Reports review showed the elemt as one of the top reliable and useful vehicles, rating wise.

don't take me seriously about the box on wheels man, just jerkin ya around....plus, remember that im the one getting the ricer civic!

yay0, true. he has all stock parts for everything hes ever switched out from the alternator, to the gauge cluster, to the bumpers, to the ECU

hell, the ECU he has in it right now is a Spoon ECU. one of the perks.

I agree with with CyMax..he knows something is def wrong and wants to get rid of it soon..I mean c'mon he probs gets better MPG than the Max even with all those mods, why would he wanna trade? its up to you but I know Honda from personal experience and if they're abused they'll leak oil from everywhere although they're still very reliable.

And for those talking about the Element being fugly..its not my type of car or whatever its considered but hey I think it looks wayyy better than that scion box with wheels..

he was originally selling it for 4800, then went down to 3500 after a month or so, then dropped down to 2600 after taking some things off of it. he put the stuff back on when i included the pace setter exhaust, and an amp ;x

but FYI it was pretty hard to get him to do this deal with me, because he needs cash. He wanted to get the money from the honda, and buy a bigger import so he could mod it out and still fit his kids in it (3 of them)

im not worried about it though, ill check everything out before i seal the deal

sounds like he's trying to dump it to me.. if he needed room for the kids, he'd be taking his time and selling it for more in order to buy a better car for them.

It does sound like he's trying to dump the car, but hey, at that price you could probably resell it in a year at a profit.
I really hope that wing isn't stayin on

so....i went and did the trade tonight. heres the scoop:

i traded my white auto 91 max with the pace setter complete exhaust, an old laptop i didnt pay anything for, an amp i was probably never gonna use, plus 800 bucks.

with all the mods on this thing, i do believe i got my moneys worth...it runs good, no smoke, no strange noises other than the one bad motor mount, which he gave me a new one to put in. it has its problems, but all are minor, just like the max i traded.

one of the worst problems is the maaco paint job...they painted EVERYTHING, but he got alot of the excess off. they even painted over the stickers on the hood that were there before, instead of taking them off.

all in all, im satisfied. will post pics tomorrow or sometime

Alright, since you already went and did the trade I suggest you do an oil change ASAP to make sure he didnt put in any additives to stop it from smoking while he had it for sale. damn I still cant believe you threw in 800 bucks too..I hope it really was worth it.

lmao...painted over stickers...too funny. And I was gonna take mine to maaco but **** that! I'm not gonna do any body work to my car as it prob not worth spending bodywork money on.
