once you go black, you go back

Well i said bye to my black automatic today. it will be nice to only worry about one car now. it was in better asthetic condition than the pearl car but i can't stand an automatic and the pearl car is mechanically superior with 70,000 less miles. anyway, i bought the car with the intention of swapping the engine and transmissions between both cars but slowly decided fixing it and selling it would be the better option. turned out it was a good decision. replacing the faulty injector, fixing the volume buttons on the stereo's faceplate and fixing the master window switch pcb yeilded a nice profit. the black is nice, kind of tough to see it go, but i'm happy to get back to my solid, low mile, 5 speed

thanks, i did mention the forums, but he didn't really give a response. he works for intel so no doubt he'll find his way here if he needs information. he's a cool guy, he rides his brakes though. but i wasn't about to give him driving instructions while he was taking the test drive

did you sell it through craigslist?

I haven't been having as much luck lately. In the past year or two I have helped sell maybe 20 cars and the last couple of months have been crappy.

Maybe now you will have enough extra to fix up the white car?

it was craigslist... I actually recieved about 10 e-mails about the car. the first time i posted, i listed all of the details, good or bad and got maybe one response.. the second time is just wrote a couple sentences, said it runs and drives good and had a lot better luck. someone wanted to trade a diamond wedding ring for it which i rejected. i just wasn't ready for the commitment

i've always had enough money to put into the pearl one, i just never did now that it's not a pizza car anymore, i'll be more motivated to at least throw some nice wheels on and lower it. the guy i bought the replacement injector off of has access to a body and paint shop with all tools available. he said if i wanted to spray the car myself, he could probably let me use it which is hella nice. a quality respray from a shop would run me about what i made on the car.

Hopefully, you can get your car looking nice and roll to a few meets. You should make a goal to try and make the June 4 one up in Seatown. Hopefully, I can make it up there. Not sure about my wife's work schedule yet.

Craigslist is really strange

I have had similar experiences. A guy I know buys up cheap cars and I post them up on CL. No charge if they don't sell, but if they do, he spots me usually $20-$50.

Some of the nicest cars he gets no calls, even if it's a good price. Some crap cars he gets a million calls and I have to delete the ad almost immediately.

Currently, that guy has a sweet Mustang FS CL Ad

I think his price is a little high on it, so he has been going back and forth with several dudes.

i don't know how nice it's going to get by june 4th but i'm going to try to make it up.

that's a nice mustang, i don't know anything about their value but to me that seems like a decent price for one in that condition. my dead friends lil brother bought a 70 something cutlass for like 7-8 grand. not my style of car at all, but it's clean. I'm sure he overspent on it though. Seems pretty steep to me..

Congrats on the sale. I love the way a clean, waxed black car looks. Right now I'm really enjoying red. The pearl car would look great dropped with rims.
