Difference between VQ, VE, VG

I've had no reason to really start looking at my wifes 93 max until she mentioned some problem with the car "chugging" when she slows down but no problems when she accelerates to around 65. This just started happening when she slowed to a toll plaza.

http://www.forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=361574

However, from looking through all the stickies and doing a search I now have another question which I cannot find the answer to on any of the links provided in the stickies or from the following Google search:

www.forums.maxima.org "Maxima.org Forums > Maxima Discussions 3rd Generation (1989-1994)" difference between VG VE

So how can I tell the difference between a VQ or a VE or a VG type Max? My wifes car I have figured out is a 93 GXE.

I had the same question in this thread:

And I got help to find the answer. It's about mid way down.

well just by the model of the car for starters, 89-91 SE was a VG, 89-94 GXE was also a VG and the 92-94 SE has the VE

the VQ was in the 4th gen maxima, 95-99

no joke the tree pollen is horrible, some how it even manages to make it to the insides of my wheels, with them being graphite with aluminum spokes, it shows up big time, it sucks
