Maxima A/C

I had finished rebuilding my front end over the winter. I came to a crossroads when I had to decide whether I wanted my car painted fresh or to Install the A/C equipment that was missing.

I opted for the paint.

Now I need the A/C.

Not entirely sure what I need as an old friend of mine helped strip the front end after the accident. So I was not there to see all the parts taken off/out.

The front right fender and edge of the bumper was smashed. So everything in the way was totaled.

I believe that he said I needed a condenser and a blower? Something like that. Then I need to find out from all you fellow maxima owners if or how I can get that new refrigerant in there.

Still chilly, but almost full-blown summer here in So. Cali.

Gotta have my A/C workin..

PS: If anyone has a tip on fixing a slightly low rumble-idle, post it up for me. Links are great.

The only "Legal" way to do this is if you go to a shop after all the a/c parts are on the car and have it filled and checked for leaks.
I suggest taking it to an a/c shop and having it filled there.

Troy.

Heres an image.

You can see, possibly, the dent in the metal line in the center.

I'm guessing that the compressor is dead? Needs to be replaced and gassed up? The condenser grille is indeed there. Any other components I dont know about that are a part of the A/C system?

So you know, 1992 was the last year that Nissan used R-12 as the refrigerant for the A/C system. From 1993, the system went to R-134a.

There may be slight differences in components between a 1992 and 1993 and later A/C parts.
