Where the HELL do I find an allen conversion for a torque wrench!?? The intake manifold for my 93 VG has allen wrench bolts!!! What kind of retarded dumb a$$ idiot decided to do that??

a torque wrench??? Put the allen wrench in and use some muscle. If not then try and find the drill sockets. My father has a set that came with his tool box on his truck.

 

i never used an allen wrench on my vg just use a gasket and tighten it down....allen wrench converter may be expensive

 

Um just go to sears and buy a set of allen sockets. Not rocket science here. Plus if you ever tear your VE engine down, the head bolts are also allen head

 

what are you whining about? Have you looked in diffrent hardware/auto stores? I know advance has several allen head sockets, and sears does. Its just like a standered socket with an allen end.

Japanese bastards?!?!?!?! I have torn apart John Deere Motors and CAT Motors that used the same thing. (It was also a ploy to keep shade tree mechanics away.

I also start my tear down next weekend. My new truck should be here Tuesday, and I'm taking the Max in Friday to have the R-12 evacuated.

 

less that 5 bucks for a socket w the correct allen key on it. the fuel rail is also secured w an allen key. have fun taking just # 3 out. and dont get discouraged when it doesnt run right due to a vacumn leak. it's the joy of learning.

 

Uhhh, I picked up a set of them at my local Idiotzone for $10 or so.....do you live in a cave or something?

 

no reason to get up on here and start b!tchin and moanin over a situation like this. no offense, but it's not the biggest hurdle to jump. i used a hex bit for a screwdriver and shoved it in a small metric socket to attach to the torque wrench to bolt down the plenum pieces. plug your inlets with tp so you don't drop **** down in there.

 

Allen sockets aren't hard to find. I went to the closest auto parts store from my house and it wasn't very much = $10 or less.
