Tire sizes
On stock SE rims, what size other than stock 205/65 15's do you guys use? I want somethin a little bit wider as the stock size Bridgestones I have on it right now are so skinny looking. Also anybody that has pics of them would be appreciated.
there is a tire and wheel section in this forum. You should check out the tire size calculator in the stickies and see what sizes will work for you.
Keep in mind your stock rims are only 6.5 inches wide, so you can't go too wide on that rim. Maybe 225 would be the widest? I am just guessing, but maybe a 225/60/15, if they even make that size.
Most of the time, it is just less of a hassle to go with 17s and get some 235/45/17s.

You can get 215/60R15 tires. That's what I did when I first got my Maxima. They are 25.2" OD instead of the stock 25.5" OD. At 60mph, your speedometer will only be reading 59.2mph.

But if your concerned about looks, you will need a bigger rim. It's all about your taste.
As far the cosmetic difference between the 205/65 and the 215/60, it won't be that noticable.

How wide are the 4h gen SE rims? I thought they were 16x6.5? Mine have a set of 225/55/16s on them, so I thought 225s would fit on a 6.5 inch rim.
I checked ebay and they do make tires in 225/60/15, which I checked to be 25.6 inches (.5 percent slow, so you are going 60.3 at 60 mph).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've been told at Just Tires and at other tireshops that 205/215 are 7 inches and not 6.5
Stock 4th gen size 97-99 is 215/55/16 which is what I currently have.

Well, the author of this thread said he wanted something wider on the stock wheels. I know Jeff and I think Michael have run some 245s on 17x8 rims. You need to have the right offset, but they will fit.
I have 225s on my 97 SE wheels, but I wasn't sure if anyone had run 225s on 15 inch 3rd gen SE wheels.
