Inner Tie Rod removal

Hi,

My left side Inner Tie Rod is shot, I want to know can I take it off with a wrench or do I need this .

Also is the Radiator fan suppose to turn on when I turn on the AC or Heat even though the car is cold. The Radiator fan turn on as soon as I turn on the AC or Heat. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks

ive never take an inter tie rod off but the radiator fas should only come on when you turn on your ac although if your engine is warm enought they might come on while the heat is on but shouldnt be triggered but turning the heat on

I took a couple of crescent wrenches and made it happen.

Yea that's weird that's exactly what I thought the way it suppose to work, but for some reason mine will turn on the Radiator Fan as soon as I turn on the AC/HEAT fan (Doesn't matter what position the Temperature Slider is at). Could that be the A/C button is stuck that causes that? Any way to troubleshoot that? Thanks

I've never done it but the right tools always make the job easier. Unless of course the tool costs more than $100.

My understanding about radiator fans: With air/heat off, left side fan will kick on after engine has reached a certain temp. This helps to cool off the engine. The right fan (auxillary) kicks on with the left anytime the air conditioner compressor is kicked on.

The compressor kicks on when you utilize the defroster (vent that blows upon the front windshield). It will do this regardless of what temperature you have set inside the car. Both heat and cool on this function utilize the compressor (which subsequently turns on your fans).

Your home heat/air works the exact same way. It's complicated, but a heat/air system pulls heat or cool from the surrounding air around the coil (our cars have one up front of the radiator, go look). But, this system only works well between certain temperatures and is why our cars have help from the coolant lines... our homes have help from electric coils in the indoor unit.

More than you asked, but there you have it. WHY the fans kick on? I understand that it is becuase the engine has to work harder with the compressor on which tends to increase heat within the engine. It also helps pull air more evenly across the whole air conditioning coil at the front of the car.

BTW: Both fans will also kick on when ecu goes into "limp back" mode.

What happens to the inner tie rods when they go bad? I can see how the outer gets worn out, but the inner..

the inners wear the same way the outers do, it just takes longer because they move less

BTW. I really regret that I didn't order the new Bosch fuel injector from you, because most the store or website out there don't know what they are selling. 99% of the store or website (the last 1% I couldn't find) will tell you 91-92 has a Yellow or Green dot and 93-94 has a Blue or black dot for reman (which is not correct). I am still going thru the headache of getting the correct fuel injector for my car (94 GXE Green dot) . Now I understand why you keep telling people to get the new injector instead of reman. Save you ton of time and headache (you can tell I don't like headace by looking at my Screen Name).

Hes not only saving you time and headache on getting the right one, hes also saving you time and headache because I hear the remans are prone to asap failure.

it's very easy, you'll need a grip plier, rubber hammer, new replacements, and some greases. that's it. lock it with a plier, knock it out it gently, it'll come out.
