i was wondering if anyone could tell me what i should check on my car as far as maintanace? i have 175,000 miles on a 91 se. So far this is my list. By the way all labor is free!
1)Timing belt 10.00
2)Air filter 5.00
3)Fuel filter 7.00
4)Thermostat 10.00
5)spark plugs 6.00
6)hoses (any worn or dry)
7)oil change 12.00
8)repack wheel bearings ??

i figure getting close to my 180,000 mark time for some looking into. I bought the manual for the rebuild of the engine, now i want to make this car go another 175,000. so whatcha think am i missing anything?

I would add the PCV valve/hose & oxygen sensor. Visually inspect the radiator hoses and check for any early signs of cracks. You can visually check the brake pads for thickness, along with the exhaust for signs of external rust.

Since you will have to remove it to get to the timing belt, replace the water pump and tensioner while you are there. Go ahead and replace the other 3 drive belts as well. By the time that you get done, you will have a new engine.

well here is my idea

today i was thinking i should do these:
1)Oil change / filter
2)pcv valve
3)oxygen sensor
4)check all hoses (replace if needed)
5)air filter
6)ngk spark plugs
7)fuel filter
8)repack wheel bearings

then i guess on my next check or when i get the money i will get:
1)3 drive belts
2)timing belt
3)water pump

is there anything else i should be looking for when breaking my engine down? i might even replace my injectors=)

If you're in there doing the t-belt, water pump, thermostat, etc.. you might as well do the cam seals. You *might* want to do the crank seal but generally it's recommended not to replace the front one until it starts leaking. A lot of people replace their front crank seal as preventative maintenance but if it's not seated properly it'll start leaking oil (which is what they are trying to prevent lOL).
