About 4, if I recall. Add to it until it starts dripping out of the hole.

ranging from 4.25-4.75 from my experience. You'll want/need to buy 5 quarts though.

yeap!

make sure you get the fill plug loose before you do the drain plug. In the small chance it might fight you, not being able to fill an empty tranny would put you in a bad position.

1/2" drive breaker bar/rachet/impact wrench/etc.

GL4 is easier on the syncros, not too late to return it

You need more leverage.. A breaker bar or torque wrench will make your life alot easier.

Slip a cheater bar over the end of the rachet to give you more leverage..

Like so...

Counter clockwise loosens bolts/screws...Clockwise tightens them...

You should be pulling the wrench to the driver side...

Go get GL4 from napa. Gl5 WILL destroy the tranny.

Take out the speed sensor (1 10 mm bolt) and fill using that hole. I had to do that after I couldnt get the fill plug out.

I promise you that with enough leverage, it will come loose. Give 'er a little squirt of PB blaster, jack the car up, put the ratchet in the optimal position for you to apply force, and give 'er. If nothing else, bang on the taught ratchet with a rubber mallet. I know how frustrating seized parts can be...

Im surprised that plain old ratchet ain't broken yet. I know I messed up my torque wrench from all the tough stuff I broke loose with it. Seriosly though, some of that PB blaster and a big ol' breaker bar should do the trick.

I did hear there are nuts/bolts that have it on the flip side

Wouldn't wanna come in contact with one of those

the speed sender is at the bottom of the transmission, not sure how you could fill it using it.

the fill plugs usually fight you. toss a jack handle on the breaker bar as mentioned. Lefty(ccw) loosey/righty(cw) tighty

Don't use a torque wrench to loosen stuff. Torque wrenches are meant for tightening nuts/bolts.

Remove the motor mount bolted up next to the fill plug so you can get a little better access to it...Then get a friend [preferably a large friend ] to help you put some torque on thang...

I don't remember at this time the amount. But I tell you... replace with REDLINE in the gear box and steering.

You'll thank me for it.
