Howdy Folks,
I talked to a few people and decided that Nov. 11(Sat.) at noon would be a good time for a meet.
The location is Natick, MA at the intersection of Rt. 30 and Mass Pike(90). There is a lake there called Cochichuate lake with a big parking lot. If you need directions let me know and I'll e-mail you some.
If this date is not good for you let me know also. Perhaps if a lot of people don't like it we can get it changed.

This is a meet for all maxima and non-maxima owners who want to share their interests and problems, or just to show off their car.

Oh, by the way, we might talk through some stuff about nov.11 when we both meet this saturday. How does that sound?

Sounds good.

I don't know what we can come up with in terms of food. I guess we can have a BBQ of some sorts.
Give me a ring when you get a chance, we'll chat. 508-904-2355.

What can u suggest (DanNY)?

I don't think we can order a catering service to a parking lot. Also I still don't know exactly how many people are going to show up. People just don't understand when I say "e-mail me if you are coming."
Any suggestions people have are more than welcome.

PLEASE READ!!!!!

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON SHOWING UP TO THE NOV 11. MEET:
1. PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT roman101@mail.com -include your username.
or
2. GO TO THE NORTHEAST FORUM AND POST A REPLY TO THE MEET THREAD STATING THAT YOU ARE PLANNING ON SHOWING UP.

It would help if I know how many people are actually going to show up. Also, if other people see the number of cars who are interested they too might come.

Thank You,
Roman

well depending out the outting and # of people going how about something like a fast food place? or a big restaurant?..not too much $$ also.
maybe a tour around boston or something like that. nothing too crazy ya know.
maybe order up a few pizza pies and get some sodas from costco or BJs..(warehouse places)<- IMO best route to go. don't worry we're not picky.
i did the BBQ deal at the LI meet since there wasn't any food places around except the crappy food caf. it was also the beach so there was grills there rdy to go. also it was a lot warmer then.
a lot of times the meet may get a little boring if we're all standing around gawking at each other's cars all day. set up some site seeing for the out of towners. be rdy to go in smaller packs to the destinations..(traffic and people getting lost). i recommend some walkie talkies..(or any other communication device). this would help keep the organizers updated on what's going on and any last min changes.
tenative venue of events would be good...so at least people know where to go. print out handouts/flyers listing locations and maps on them.
definitely get some help..you can't do it alone. i had 6-7 people helping me and it wasn't a huge meet..(like philly).
me personally would like to see boston..maybe some parks and etc..some cool places to chill at and take pics. (just make sure we can all hang out there).
i highly recommend you check out the "site(s)" b4 you set it up. so u know exactly where it is and etc. get a digicam so (or borrow one) so u can show people where they are going to be and where are they going to meet..also it will help to point people to where to go.
you may also want to talk to a few speed shops (if they are in the area) and maybe hook us up with some stuff at a decent price...not really needed..but added bonus for some of the new guys.
last but not least...always forsee the worst..like a plan B. where to go if we're kicked out of one place and etc. if you see people from farther out maybe find out some places to stay overnight and the costs.
i think that's all i got so far. let me know if u have any questions.

Good ideas.

Thanks for all the ideas. I never really thought of it in that way but now I am. I will definitley put together some kind of tour and buy some food at the local priceclub. About walkie talkies..I don't have any..a cell phone will have to do. I figure most people who can afford a Maxima have a cell phone.
This thing would be much easier to plan if I had a count of how many people are coming. No one seems to understand that they have to e-mail me. I still have some time so hopefully people will get on the band wagon.
When you are talking about tours..parking is really hard to find in Boston so do you mean just a drive by or actually parking the cars and getting out and seeing the sites?
Overnight stay is no problem...there is a Red Roof Inn right at the intersection.

One question: Are you coming?

Keep the ideas coming..so far you and Andy have been extremely helpful.

Hope to see you there,
Roman

yes..i should be e-mailing you..sorry about that.
well if you get like 10-15 responses..add at least 10 to that number. there's going to be people who would just go..or last min people who would e-mail u the night b4 the meet at like 4am or something.
cell phone should be fine..as long as you have a phone chain deal...on walkies you can talk to more than one person at a time..so that makes it ez. on phone you can only talk to one person at a time. driving while doing that is not EZ.
yes i understand the parking is difficult in boston..but try to find a spot that will accomdate at least 20 cars all at once. it doesn't have to be in the heart of town..it can be like a supermarket or a mall or something..well can leave the cars there and go eat in town or something...or even site see. i think we/I would like to do some drive bys (not shootings) and some stop and look deals.

Nice...

Today I counted the number of people who I think will show up...17. These people might bring along others so it will definitley be a very good meet. As I mentioned before I have a Sony Movica camera and I will bring many floppy disks so if anyone wants to take pictures...no problem. I have a friend who works at the local Stop & Shop and he will hook me up with 5 or 6 one time use cameras and some food.
Once again....if you are planning on showing up either e-mail me at roman101@mail.com or go to the Northeast section and reply to the thread.

Thanks,
Roman

Further Info....

Just wanted to say that the count is up to 25.
To everyone who is coming: Please try to be on-time - Noon.
We will stick around the area for about two hours and then move on to another location.
Some other Boston people and I will organize an itinerary where we can go into the city and see some sites. I will also try to come up with a small lottery so everyone who comes will get something(automotive related obviously).
I think a few people got annoyed that I posted info about this meet on every forum so from now-on to make it easier ALL FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MEET WILL & SHOULD ONLY BE POSTED IN THE NORTHEAST FORUM!!!

Thank You,
