Black makes ANYTHING look better. Like ozzombie said, you'll notice all the imperfections and its also hard to keep clean. But definitely worth the effort, IMO.
No Aztec Red?
Actually, I would say the dark grey metallic color of the new G35 or 350z. I think it's called Silverstone on the Z. That's very hot, IMO.

If you are going for a "stand out in a crowd" look, maybe the sunset orange color on a lot of new Nissans like nForce posted.

I Like Silver, b/c it is so easy to clean, but looks terrible on the MAXIMA.
Volcanic ORANGE would look tight!
Dark slate might look good.
I was goign to paint my car silverstone at one time so I bought a quart to spray some stuff to see how I like it. I like it alright but never painted a car that color. I painted two sets of wheels (the ones on my old SE and the ones on my jeep now) and I have my valve covers, IM and some other stuff prepped and ready to be painted that color. I think it would look good on a Maxima.
I have always loved blue and I wanted to paint my current project (as well as my last one) blue but decided not to since its black and black although the hardest to keep clean is one of the nicest colors on a 3rd gen so why go through the trouble of a color change. SO I found a pearl black I will be using that is beautiful...something a little different but not so much I have to paint the engine bay.

Here is the quote they gave me. This is fixing the LT fender/ rust on door/ and chips on rear. This also includes the 2 stage poly and clear coat with the color change to the color of my choice. ( black or copper ) does this seem lil expensive? There was a stang there that has same kinda paint i would be gettin down on his and man it look amazing. They will warranty the paint for 4yrs chips/cracks/fading anything along those likes they said.. I just think that the door handles shouldnt cost this much its like 300 bucks just to do the door handles and the keypad area.
Take a look....

But a dark blue or a very dark chardonnay colour (i.e. red wine colour) would look nice too on our cars' styling, IMO.

that is dirt cheap esp for a color change. I wouldnt even do it for that little...then again I dont have my own paint etc. (paint and supplies would run $600 or so for me using the less expensive PPG line).
I am not sure about Maaco though...heard too many bad things about them.
edit...why would you go through the trouble to get a color change and new paint job without fixing all the dents and dings? IMO a nice shiny paint job is ruined by dents and dings...especially if you go black.
If you are going to do it do it right.
