window fell down? Window regulator?

Hey guys. My brother has a 92 GXE and he said the window fell down. When I searched, it looks like the most common problem is the window regulator going bad. Is that usually the only thing that cause the window to fall down? I will be working on this tomorrow so I would appreciate and help/advice. thanks.

A bad regulator is the only problem that would make the window fall down.

The plastic peices that the window bolts up to breaking can also cause this..

window reg for sure.
it's a very simple install, hardest part I found was getting the screws out of the motor to the regulator.

It was the window regulator. Thanks for the nice write up Craig...that helped out a lot considering my brother does not have a service manual yet. Everything is working fine now, and we were lucky we were able to find the regulator that we needed in stock at the local NAPA here in Greensboro.

I just did both sides on my GF's 90 SE. I ended up buying both new window regulators from ebay. I ended up buying the ones that came with new motors even though the old ones were prob still usable.

When mine did that it was a cheap plastic part that the regulator cable wraps trhrough broke. They are are right you have to install a new regulator asembly.
