kris (from zr motorsport) and i are having trouble finding a location for the filter to go into. i need some pics of where the hole is drilled to slide in the tube and filter. we're just looking for ideas, we can't seem to find enough space between the battery and the fender well to drill a 3.5" hole. help!!!

You should have gotten a pattern with your CAI. It shows exactly where to cut the hole. You have to temporarily remove the battery tray. (I submitted a post a few weeks ago with detailed instructions, look through old posts for it.)
It seems like it won't fit, but it does. Call Place Racing (or whoever made your CAI) and they will fax you the pattern. It locates the the hole to cut by referencing the position of an exisiting hole, and 2 bolts.

Why not buy a PR CAI and see how they worked it? You can use their design as a 'guide', and maybe it will give you some good ideas for your design.

we thought about buying one from place racing, we need to find a distributer nearby so we don't have to pay so much $$$. does anybody still have the template that could maybe scan it or fax it? it looks like there's not enough room with all the relays for the horn, etc. right next to the stock hole under the other fuse box on the side of the engine bay. does those stay in the same spot, or do you have to relocate them?

hmm...no access to a digicam...i know i have that template laying around in the garage somewhere as people have asked for it before...i'll see if i can dig it up...

as far as the other questions...no you do not need to relocate anything at all...the PR fits in with everything left in the stock locations (it is a TIGHT fit but it fits)...the 3.5" hole uses an existing hole already located around the battery tray area....
