Have you tried the bulb from the right headlamp onto the left headlamp?

elusivemax93 09-19-2006 11:56 PM

lolz ok first question what type of bulb are u using if there those aftermarket hyper white bulbs do this take off the wire harness dat goes to the bulb look inside and make sure that the prongs on the inside of it are not burnt cuz if so then ur gonna have to go to auto zone and buy the harnesses made to go with those aftermarket bulbs that will fry out stock wire harnesses. i know this as i did it with my first maxima lolz and ive had those harnesses with my second maxima as well but now i dont need them nor have them as i wrecked the friont end of my second max and it was totaled

Like the above post. The problem is the bulb replace it.

ColombianMax 09-20-2006 05:20 AM

lol greenmax...well he could eliminate that doubt by trying the bulb from the other side if he doesnt feel comfortable spending 10 bucks on a new bulb

I have the same problem too. The low beam only deliver about 10v to the headlight and that's not enough to start my HID ballast. I had to connect the high beam wire to it inorder to get 12v. I think there is something wrong with the relay.

BTW the relay is located somewhere behind the driver-side front wheel.

You probably need to replace your headlight switch on the steering column...

Or you could try to clean the contacts first, sometimes this works, sometimes not...

I thought the switch only control the on and off of the headlight and the relay supply the power? Correct me if I am wrong.

I'm with greenmax on this one, it's pretty simple inside the bulb you have a low beam and a high beam, the low beam burned out...grab yourself a new bulb and you're good to go. :doublethu

ColombianMax 09-20-2006 12:21 PM

lol thats what I keep saying but to save time and money just test the other bulb on the messed up side

Jon94SE 09-20-2006 12:41 PM

Yeah I hear ya ColombianMax it definatly wouldn't hurt to diagnose it that way

xx-Marshall-xx 09-20-2006 01:01 PM

yeah, as you can see inside the bulb... it has 2 coils, one for low and one for high, the low is burnt, the high is not... sooo replace it :)

elusivemax93 09-20-2006 02:40 PM

baboons i tell u. You also have to make sure dat the back of the bulb where it has the three prongs arent burn as well cuz they also burn from time to time
