I tried to resist posting, but that set-up is an embarrassment. If done right, you CAN place both turbos under the hood. There are 3rd gen setups with the T3 in stock Z31 location in Max. You add another, how most of us have, above the tranny, and there you go. Anyway, I wouldn't even claim that thing unless I had images of all that wreck covered and some symblance of a Max presented. Is he applying to Monster Garage?

well the idea was kinda cool. twin turbo nissans are always fun... so i thought. but how much fun can you have on a hot summer day with very hot pipes right next to your arm. just doesnt make much sense to me.

the idea i agree is great but how he did is very dumb! i Guess if he is going to build a 1/4 mile car for the track than who cares your only in the car for a few minutes but for a daily driver i think that is idiotic. and i am no expert of turbo set ups any any manner but isn't the intercooler suppose to go upfront so that the rushing air coming in cools down the air being sent threw the turbo? grated he has a little hood scoop but after all that time and effort wouldn't have it been better to locate it in the front like usual? maybe he wanted a set up similar to a SUBARU? and am i mistaken is that his air intake box next to his passengers window?

wouldn't you actually lose some of the power your creating but having all the extra plumbing going back and fourth?

like i said i am no expert any any ways but to me it seems like a lot of extra work for potentially less results compare if he would have done it right. like i said i may be wrong and maybe that all the extra plumbing won't hurt but that is that much more everything has to circulate

twin turbos can be done without having to put the turbos inside the cab juz limited to size in turbos but it can be done if u look behind and lower of the vg-ve blocks on the back there is room to put one turbo there if u can get it done right and the second tubro could be done infront of the motor but i would recommend thermal wrapping it to keep heat down since it is sitting near the radiator

Kindof defeats the purpose of twin turbo. I guess it works just kindof makes the car worthless. Id be interested to see what 1/4mile times are just for kicks. Cant be that much faster.

lol yeah with all that extra piping plus it being an auto it prolly aint all dat fast plus he even stated with he is using very small turbos to do the whole thing so what can u really get out of using small turbos with all that extra piping.

Well I wouldn't have believed it w/o pics that's for sure. I would say sleeper look when you open the hood but it's hard to avoid not looking in the window.

Is it me, or is he trying to make the exhaust perfectly parralel to the engine? I remember in tech school the teacher was tellin us something about the exhaust being best if it's mounted perfectly inline with the exhaust ports.

That turbo set up is nice but i would put a big single turbo instead of two small turbo's. Plus i don't think the car will produce much power b/c of the turbo size.

I would rock that in a heartbeat

All fast cars have the turbo inside the car.

The air filter is a little ghetto though. I probably would be able to resist putting the air filter where the muffler usually goes

Depending on tuning skills, it could turn out to be just as fast as any well done turbo kit. But.... that thing is possibly the most hideous, dangerous, Darwin Death Trap ( TM ) safety violation in the world.

I wonder what he's shooting for. I bet he simply wanted a unique design that nobody has ever done.

That's not really my sort of thing. But some people like to go against the grain and do something that's much harder just to be on a level of their own.

More power to this guy. I'd love to check out the car someday. Hopefully at a track meet.

MaximaDrvr, if you're reading this, send me a message sometime. I'm always interested in doing a track Maxima meet.
