Gauge Clusters

Other than ColumbianMax, anyone with a 1992-1994 GXE switch to a VE gauge cluster for the auto tranny? Any problems thus far, or still good?

I ask because about a year and a half ago, I switched my GXE cluster out for a 1992 VE 5-sp cluster w/o airbag. It worked fine up until last month ago when the tachometer died, the charge light came on, and the 10AMP fuse for the instrument cluster kept blowing when I replaced it. I swapped back my old GXE cluster, and all is fine so far. I guess they were not quite compatible.

The only thing I notice in the back of the VE cluster it that it has one of the three big harnesses equipped with a rubber shield.

They are completely compatible...You probably just got a used cluster that was pretty close to dying anyway...

Give it another shot...Many people on here have done this swap and not had any problems...
