i have a nissan maxima 3rd generation and the auto gearbox has gone in it.will the auto transmission off a ve30de be compatible with my vg30e engine?? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

 

Nope..

The vg30de was used in the 300zx,which is a rear wheel drive car..The transmissions from rear wheel drive cars will not fit in a front wheel drive car...

 

what was the name of the engine that was twin cam in the 3rd generation maxima?? that was the engine i meant

 

You mean the VE30DE.....This won't work either..The flexplate will not match up to the starter....You cant swap flexplates either,the crankshaft mounting holes for a vg engine has 6 bolts holes,the ve has 8 bolts holes...


You have only a few options..

1.Replace with identical auto trans..

2. Have your trans rebuilt..

3. 5 speed swap...
