Had a scare yesterday.. Here goes:
I had noticed my car had been running somewhat different yesterday and when me and the wife got into the car at the mall we saw a big puddle of coolant coming from under the car.. I was like WTF? So i decided to chance it and drive to a gas station.. I didn't drive 1 mile before the car started to overheat but I made it to the station.. Filled up the radiator and turned up the heater and waited for about 15 minutes to cool down.. I made it home and checked out to see if it was just a busted hose or cracked head gasket.. I was leaning toward a bad heater hose but didn't want to rule out cracked head gasket.. Well I take the car in (the shop is right down the street) and it turns out it was a heat exchange hose that had gone bad.. Cost $17 to replace the hose and 50 for labor and then another $20 to refill and test coolant system.. Well everything is A ok..
You guys ever had to get a head gasket replaced.. Just curious to see how much it would have cost if It would have been that..

 

Donno. I did a head gasket once but I did it myself.
