sunroof shade stuck

I lost a cd in the roof the other day and had to shove my hand in their to get it out. Of course once I did that I knocked the shade off it tracks and then bent the hell out of the little guides that keep the shade in place while sliding it back and forth. So now the shade will not open and close with ease. I have to force it and f with it alot to get it either open or closed. Anyway what is the best way to get that puppy back on track? Trying to push the guides back in place (with flat head screw driver) only led me to screw it up worse. Has anyone ever taken out their entire headliner and all to fix a problem like this. Do I just start pulling all the molding off and taking out screws where I seee them or what.

lol how did you get a CD "UP there!!!" lol

prolly going to have to disassemble it to do it correctly and a lot more space to work with having the headliner off

just my opinion

Take the trim off and open the sunroof..then you can work from outside and inside..I had 2 of those flimsy guide break so I ended up taking them all of and now it just floats in there butit does not get stuck!

when you say trim do you mean just the trim around the sunroof opening or the whole headliner. I dont care if I have to take the guides off, I figured thats what I would probably do anyway. Thinking about saying f it and snipping them with dikes with out having to take anything apart.

cd was up there bcoz I put one in between the shade and the headliner for a holding spot until the awesome force of my vg powered monster max (its all stock) caused to to side back there.

every post I read from you says "just take it all a part for more room to work" No sht sherlock, maybe you could include some insight about the proper way to disassymble rather than just state the obvious

please dont take this the wrong way, I'm just sayin dude. please dont take it the wrong way

Take the inside trim off around the sunroof for better access. In fact my guides kept popping back off when I would reinstall the trim. Apparently the shade had warped to where there was not enough clearance between the shade and trim, so I left the trim off permanently.
