brakes

I have a 91 gxe and i was wondering how you tell whether or not you have abs, without having to go slamming on your brakes.

pop your hood, look behind the passenger headlight.

If you see a coolant tank = No ABS
if you see an octopus of brake lines = ABS

Brake Testing

I tend to find that testing the brakes regularly by braking hard (once every few months and never with a passenger) is a good idea anyway. If the wheels lock, then either you don't have ABS or the abs is not working properly.

Living in Brunei, I have to brake hard frequently as the quality of driving locally is not that good, so my brakes are put to the test on an almost daily basis.

Wouldn't your ABS light not come on when you start the car if you didn't have abs
