Head Unit Decission help please.

I am redoing my sound system,
I already got a amplifier, subwoofer and the amp wire.
My next buy will be a 6.5 speakers for the front door and a new headunit.

I want a headunit where i can fade out the speakers, that way i can get more base and fade out the front speakers...less pressure on the front door speakers.
also it should have a built in EQ that can be configured by the user.
lol, must be below 200, ...i'm taking baby steps..lol

Ive looked for 2 weeks for a decent headunit. and found a 3 of them,
so far some lack the features while others lack the looks.

Can some pros give me heads up on which is better or recommend one?

Here is what i go so far:

PIONEER PREMIER DEH-P580MP its got looks, but i;m not sure if its got built in EQ that can be configured by the user and the speaker fade out...but might consider getting over rest

DUAL XDMR7700 omg this is really nice, motorized face. But its 0 feature wise, there is just a regular preset EQ, no speaker fade out thingy..or am i wrong?
its all looks no feature

Kenwood KDC-MP5032 its got madd features, i believe everything i wanted. except for the animated lcd like the pioneer..

anyone have any of these units? or have any good units that have the features i want?

Thank you all in advance.

i have a pioneer deck with the animated display. it looks nice and puts out some good sound, with a good choice of audio options. with that said, id say go alpine cuz all my friends have alpines with speakers and no subs and they sound sooo much clearer than my unit with just my speakers. since i have a sub its not bad at all, but the highs and stuff just arent as loud

i looked at some alpines, omg they are expensive

i found the pioneer's website and saw the same model i liked. its got everything
looks/animated, "Electronic Balance/Fader", "User Equalizer Settings".

my next question (sorry i'm a noob and trying to learn as much as i can before i do the installation myself)

i read about the amplifier turn on cable.
does this unit have the port at the back for that?

heres a link to pioneer's site:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...tailsComponent

ive read that its got:
Subwoofer Direct Control Key
Subwoofer Crossover
RCA Preouts 3 pair (Front, Rear, Sub/Non-Fading)
Preout Voltage & Impedance 2.2V, 1k Ohm

does any of that mean it will work with the amp thats got a amp turn on wire?

Thanks,
and sorry i'm a noob

also, only reason i;m doing it myself is because i love my car and want to spend the time doing it myself rather than taking it to circuit city have let someone else do it

Thanks again

That's Great man! me too! couple of years ago want to get rid of this no brand cassete player that previous owner install, and I have no idea how to do it, so was planning to take it to circuit city for free installation when you buy HU from them, but no way, better do it myself carefully. My first HU was a kenwood, (forgot the model) but was a succesfull installation, later on I want a complete sound system (amps, subs, spks, HU) but my kenwood only has one pair of RCA outputs so, I got a new one, Pionner DEH7700MP and I can say it has a great equalizer options, 4 RCA outputs for spks and 2 RCA for Subs, organic display and blue lights look pretty cool! That one is my suggestion for you, I bought it for 250 last year, but I guess now is around 200, due newer models, Good luck man! let have a decent audio system on our babys!

updates!

i just ran the power wire. (amplifier)

i ran it to a hole in the driver's side fender, then snake it through the front door then ran it under the carpet. i'm up to the bac kseat then i stop ..got to figure out how to remove back seat, lol!!!!

I must say i hit my finger like 3 times, it was a b**ch gettting the wire through, but deep down , i honestly love working on my car. i think this will be a new hobby of mine. and i love you guys at maxima.org, without this forum i would be wiating at circuit city!!!

Thanks again!

I loosen the back just to make it easier.
it's only 2 bolts on the bottom and 2 bolts behind the armrest.

Thank you very much!
I got it, instead of loosing the back out i ran it under. wasnt too hard.

For the ground wire, well i couldnt get any of the seat belt screw/lug open..i tried soo hard and they didnt even move

instead, in the middle of the seat there is a squarish medal patch. the patch had four screws. I put the ground wire there. is that safe?
the seat, my god was a pain to pull up.
I couldnt test the wire yet, i still need to decide on what headunit to buy.

Thanks alot for your help!!!
