Is it me or is this the fastest (talking about the mph) GXE ever built. The 16.5 sounds right, but the 90-91mph is WAY off. You sure it wasn't 80-81mph? That would make a lot more sense. Hitting 90-91mph trap speeds means this car is capable of 14s. There must be something wrong with the trap speed boxes because running a 16.5@91 would mean you're spinning your tires almost half way down the track. I really doubt that the case with a 160hp auto.

Yeah.....

my best MPH was a 81-82 when I ran my 16.7(91 GXE) a few months back with an intake, 91mph is way off. I think Czar(VE 5spd) is in the 90's and running a 14.8, so 90mph in a 16 second GXE is kinda strange...

so I can contact you regarding my multitude of vehicular woes.... what else???

j/k, its just that the forums and email usually suck for back and forth conversations. you should get some sort of IM proggie. I suggest trillian myself, it allows me to combine ICQ/AIM/MSN/ and yahoo messengers + IRC chatting as well.

Re: so I can contact you regarding my multitude of vehicular woes.... what else???

At work, there is a program download policy so none of that stuff.

Question: how do you like the cold air intake in the summer now? My question is after driving around, is the tubing still cold? I remember touching that SER's cold air tubing and it was cold to the touch! Impressive. With my JWT cone, the maf and cone are on the warm side when I touch it(ie.. when stopped to get gas etc. )

Well when I feel the outside of the tubing it is actually quite warm still... but not hot. I suppose this is heat soak rearing its ugly head, the lower part of the pipe is a bit cooler as well of course.

Use AIM Express. It runs of the net so they'll never know. Nothing to download and its easy to use.

I'm so ****ed you should consider yourself lucky

I'm heated I ran a 16.9 CONSISTENTLY tonight at moroso and the first run I had a r/t of .526 and ran a 16.9 at 81mph I don't see how that is possible when I ran a 16.6 at 80mph and then i ran a 16.9 going 79mph I just don't get it with the mods that I have I should be running way better than that. the weirdest thing is I ran at the track the night I got the y pipe put on and beat my best and ran a 16.5 but now the car is running damn near stock!!!!!!!! sorry guys I just had to vent. but on the lighter side the NOS should be here fairly quickly and I'm damn sure going to order my CAI tommorow. i can't think of anything else to do except run out a buy an acura integra GSR.

Re: I'm so ****ed you should consider yourself lucky

From what I seen a "well driven" auto VG should pull between 79-81mph traps and ET's around 16.7-17.2. Hell at the track while my car was running 17.0's at 79mph with 2.4x 60fts, a bone stock GXE ran 16.88 at 81mph with a 2.5 60ft. All he did was remove the air filter and probably spare tire/jack. If he was able to launch harder, there is no doubt he could pull a 16.6 or 16.5. The trick to getting quick ET's is to cool the motor and great launches. I just leave my car off and push it till I get to the lanes. Ideally you want the temp gauge below went the thermostat opens (below 190 degrees) but hotter than 145*F so the trans will shift smoothly. BTW my 87 max with just intake, exhaust and UDP ran a 16.312 at 80.86. I almost hit my 6500rpm rev limiter in 2nd gear because I wasn't paying attention. My previous run was 16.357 at 82.25 wiht a 2.34 60ft.

well I went back to Moroso

I decided to give the track another shot and alas I was disapointed again. This friday I ran 16.8's consistently and I just don't get it. this is the time slip:
r/t.713
60' 2.463
330' 7.023
1/8' 10.804
mph 65.58
1000 14.045
1/4 16.800
mph 82.04

I don't know about anyone else but I definetly see improvement because I used to consistently come out of the quarter at 79mph and I would hit 80 once in a blue moon and I would run 16.7's all day, but since my recent addition I managed to run a 16.5 the very first night I had it and that was when I drove it from the muffler place to the track and that's only about 60miles but once the pipe was supposedly broken in I've gained trap speed but lost 1/4 mile time I'm not running an oem muffler but the muffler isn't straight through and I have the stock piping in. I know I'm getting a new muffler and I was going to look into getting my pipe widened to 2.5". by any chance does anyone else have any input or ideas?
