Power Steering Question

I'm planning on replacing the power steering pump and lines very soon and I'm trying to get advice on which way to go with it. I'm looking for a good price but also decent durability. I was thinking about buying one off internet auto supply. Or should I go to a regular parts store..nissan? The only reason I would consider going to the dealer is for quality issues but from my experiance nissan power steering isn't that good in the first place. Any advice would be great, thanks.

PLEAASSSEE order it off me. I have the pump and hose sitting in my car right now.

are you sure that it isn't leaking from the reservoir or the reservoir hose?

Sorry, my lack of replies is because of my lack of internet at home right now. When I bought the car the PS hoses were leaking pretty bad already and I just kept topping it off every couple of days but there were a few occasions where I didn't fill it during long drives and it had the super charger sound going for quite a while. Over time of running low I think the pump is having problems now. It still works fine, I haven't had any steering disasters or anything yet but it's making weird noises now even when it's full and I can feel vibrations in the shifter when the noise happens. I just want to put a new pump in with the new hoses and have everything fresh. Not to mention I'm getting tired of my passenger wheel well being covered in power steering sludge. I probably will buy my stuff off your site IAS but I don't have the money quite yet.

I would go ahead and get a new right side control arm while you are at it..The p/s fluid has most likely destroyed the rubber bushing on the arm..

Yep, that's what happened to me. My Control Arms bushings are shot. I had a leaking rack and had to replace that. Now, my pump is doing all the whining noises and shudder under slow hard turns. I bought a "good" used one off eBay for $15 bucks. I hope to install it soon. How hard are they to do one's self? I got a used one, because someone reliable said that they usually don't go bad unless they've been run dry and of course the price.

Good luck!

Nope, haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting until I get my struts (which of course aren't cheap, Maybe after X-mas) so I can do everything at once.
