Maybe my EGR valve?
I noticed stuttering and tried everything in the book. sea foam. fuel pump pressure. intake leaks. exhaust leeks couldn't find anything. So checked the EGR valve. still pumps up and down. the vacuum tube wasn't clogged up. So after I got the car up when I pressed the throttle slowly and smoothly the valve went up like it should. then when I romped on it from a dead idle the valve didn't move an inch. and the engine bogged down A LOT. Is it not supposed to move when heavy gas is applied? If i leave the car at idle and manual push up the valve from underneith the car rumbles as if to stall out... the same feeling it does when I romp on the gas. could it be stuck? or is it supposed to do this and I am just ? Also I found my engine leaking oil very slightly in 2 spots of my engine. and that makes me sad. Smoke =

egr valve
Does your engine run rough at idle ? if yes then you probably have carbon build up in your egr valve. remove the valve soak the lower end in cleaner and reinstall. You could have trouble if teh valve is stuck open, but it will not affect the engine if its stuck closed. It will however effect your nox emmissions if stuck closed.

so the tube (from the egr valve to exhaust) was completely packed.. I could barely blow threw it. So carbon cleaner and coat hanger did the trick... got it all back and hooked up. the hesitation is still there. Not AS bad. but still there. hopefully now I'll get a little better gas millage too. the 16-18 miles a gallon has been killing me. And I've been taking it easy on her too. So back to the drawing board.

You changed the gasket right?

did you soak the lower end of the egr valve in cleaner too. the roughness is because of carbon buildup on the valve seat. Since your tube was choked up , you can bet that your engine intake valve has carbon buildup too. you need to clean them. easiest way is to remove the hose off the pcv valve and spray air intake cleaner in through the pcv valve at idle.
