Timing Chain vs. Belt

I just had a random question pop into my head while doing some homework on chain drive systems. On a VG (my car) there is a belt and hence no need for lubrication. So I was wondering what kind of lubrication system is used on the VE's timing chain setup? Curiosity is what makes this forum go 'round!

The engine oil pump sends oil up through oil gallies in the block/heads to the chains....

So it is exclusively a type of oil stream lubrication with some kind of syphon/drain mechanism at the bottom...There is not a bath of oil that the lower sprocket and chain sit in, correct?

Nevermind, I just found a Table to determine which lubrication system is suggested and considering the rpm's the gears can turn at, oil stream lubrication is the only type that would work. I guess I was just wondering if the crank gear sat in a bath of oil, as well...
