Speaking of Fand Furious...

What are they talking about when they're talking about shifting and say to double clutch? Or did I misunderstand?

I didn't understand that either. As far as I know, double clutching is done when downshifting to match revs.

Double clutching is a technique some people use to drag race.

Wow, that explains it. LOL (just kidding) If you can tell us what technique that is and how it works, I think we would understand.

double-clutching is where you double pump the clutch to make sure that the transmission is fully disengaged from the previous gear. it's not necessarily used to drag race, it's more for older cars where the transmission isnt as responsive. doing that in a drag race would actually slow you down a bit. you'll notice that a lot of older guys double-clutch alot, and it's actually a "dying breed". i say that because most newer cars have good transmissions and dont have to double-clutch. downshifting to match revs is not double-clutching, but rather heel-toe shifting.

Yes that's true.. newer cars do not need to double clutch. There are still some people who double clutch when they drag race with their muscle cars. Don't ask me why but this is what I'm told.
