MAX broken into, pics

well, ive had this in the back of my head for a while now, wanting to get a good alarm.

tonight was the night i would need it the most,

got home 9ish, locked the car, normally, left everything inside (ipod video 60gb, system, radio, ya know)

well around 3 40 AM i wake up to a car alarm and look out the window to see its myne, and am like damm i dont wonna get up, i figured it was going off randomly, cuz my old max did that

well as i went outside and walk to the drivers side, i see stuff on the ground and i first thought someone hit my car (cuz its parked on road) then realized my traingly window was gone.

so i looked inside and my ipod was there, they got away with nothing

what happend was they pryed up the trim, took out window, and unlocked the rear door, thats when the alarm went off.

Called cops, took fingerprints, found nothing mising.

Tommorow ima go to nissan n try to get the trim that was cut and broken, and look into that alarm i wanted

I got so luckey they didnt get my ipod, next time i wont be so luckey.

I never, ever leave anything of value in plain view in my vehicles. If you look in the windows, all you see is seats and floormats. Glad they didn't get anything.

Worst advice ever. Shooting someone that is breaking into your car is a great way to spend the rest of your life in prison as a convicted murderer.

Not in Florida. It's called the Make my Day law. Gotta love the right to protect your property. In any case, it's a good thing they didn't snag anything, but let that be a lesson to you. Take EVERYTHING inside, especially if you have a removeable faceplate radio. In any case, I hope the dirtbags get caught. Car thieves are the lowest scum of the earth.

the poster is from NC...not FL. laws vary by state.

IMO the tint was so dark that they wanted to mess with it and see what was inside.

DOT approved or not you can make most RS alarms work with the Maxima 5spd because it has a neutral sense switch (not sure exact term).

I had a cheaper crimestopper on my 5spd max and it works like it should. It will not start if the car is in gear. Its easy to hook up on our cars. btw I got several of those RS alarms for various friends. I had one flake out on me but the others have worked well.

On the bright side, consider it a complement. (I hope I spell that right, curse English and it's ambiguity)
You can say, my car is so nice, that someone wanted to break in it.

I think somone wanted to steal it.
One day I parked my car down a street and some crackhead used a hammer to get into the front driver window just for the coins in the rack . I was about ready to kill. I don't understand how he/she got inside my car without the alarm ringing. I can guess the fool climbed in. I don't know. Does the alarm have a timeout? If it does, the people either was too scared to call the police or thought it was a random alarm going off because some fool wants to showoff

But I never parked there again. I'm learning Electric Engineering, in time I can build a better alarm.

First, a piece of advice, never leave anything valuable or even if it looks valuable on your car. 3 months ago I left some old computer parts on my dad's car (corolla 93) with no value at all, and I just forgot the parts there and next day the door lock was gone and so the computer stuff, I actually spend more money fixing the door lock that the value of what they steal! these scums are even ignorant!

Second, I just have my stock alarm on my Max, and willing to get same thing (alarm remote start) but I have and A/T!! does that mean I'm not gonna be able to install it? I never dig a lot into it before, but now I was reading your posts and got confused? what options I have for A/T??

they make remote start for autos alot more then for standerds so you have it alot easier for remote start then we with manuel transmissions

it is no harder to install the remote start on the manual Maxima than it is the auto. Consider this...if you dont hook everything up right you can start an auto in gear...that isnt good either.

When you hook it up for an auto you need to hook it into the position switch otherwise you will be bypassing it and it will start in gear.

thats the same thing you do with the manual...you hook it up to the neutral sense wire on the ECU to make sure it doesnt start in gear.

If you dont want to spend a ton for the expensive alarm/RS then all you have to do is wire it into hood pin input of the RS.

Its not rocket science and Craig and others on here have posted exactly how to do it.

what...read my post. There is a wire on the ECU that lets you know if the car is in gear or not by its output. You have the ability to search so why dont you search on it and you will see.

Don't tell me there is not sensor or switch because I know for sure and have successfully hooked up a RS on a VE5. Don't believe me just ask Pervis Anathema (the guy that bought the car) and ask if it works like it should.

If you put the car in gear it will not start period...put it in N and it starts like it should.

edit...and yes you have to bypass the clutch switch as well.

i don't care if you didn't ask for my $.02. you're welcome to post on it as much as i am. if you can't take the critics then you're welcome to leave.

all i did was asked you a question. the question is are you complaining about the alarm in an old car? why are you so confrontational? it was a simple question. if you can't express your thoughts w/o getting all bent out of shape i can always offer a small vacation away from the site for you to cool off.

please don't push me to it because you can't control your emotions when someone questions your post. it's an INTERNET discussion forum.

Did i ask for your opinion about what i thought about it this time or the last time i also got into it with you no i didnt im trying to say my part about the 13-17 year old part in our cars. i come here for help with problems i may have that i have not had to deal with before in my car then also give information to those that dont know how to fix or get something changed on there cars

drama much?

i asked you a simple question...you like to drag all this drama out. clearly you had all this anger all built up and you're just letting it rip.

show me where i'm putting someone down w/o justification? i don't tell you how to do your job..don't tell me how to do mine.

i don't care if you didn't ask....like i said i'm welcome to post as well as yourself. who died and made you boss that you only allow certain people to post? i asked you a question...one question.

i'm going to give my $.02 if you're going to post. if i don't like it are you going to blow up the car? that's just my thoughts...why would you care what i think but if you're going to post something then it's open for criticism. i'm not going be like...oh wow..that's hot...oh that's great when it's clearly a POS.

please take your drama and your emotions off the board. it's really not needed here. like a said...a 5 day vacation off the board is an option if you wish to take it to cool off.
