Folks, l have a 1993 Max se auto,oh it has 93,500 mile on it. My wife was driving it this morning and came home with a problem. She said it stalled on her at the traffic light. l guess its staving for fuel, l haven't changed the fuel filter in over 3 years, could that be the problem? Would you recommend adding a fuel additive, to kill any bad fuel that could be in the tank.
So before l go down to autozone, l'd like alittle feedback on what you guys think!
Thanks for any help on this matter
Shane

This could also be a sticking EGR valve. This is typical of a sticking EGR valve, when the engine is hot and after driving at relatively high speed the valve can stick open and the engine will be running too rich (b/c exhaust gas will be entering the engine at an idle).

It is possible to clean out the EGR by disconnecting the hose that feeds the EGR with exhaust gasses. then while the engine is running, opening the egr by pulling up on the plunger at the top of the egr, at the same time spraying carberator cleaner inside the EGR's inlet tube. The engine will suck in the carburator cleaner and clear the valve out.

Or ofcourse you can dish out the $$$ for a new EGR.
