nevermind, i was thinking about something else. but i agree with internetautomar. goin over the relay, or you could move the relay to where the air box was.

As MGM said moving that relay box is a bad idea.

thats true. but what if you just move the relay box about 3 inches? i was thinking, relocate the battery to the trunk, and put the relay box there. but im not too sure.

Ok,now you are now talking about major modifications(i.e. battery relocation) just to put in a cai pipe in? Be reminded that a cai has little to no performance benefit at all on these cars,so this would imo be waaay to much work for little to no gains...

it was an example of the bend needed, not the particular pipe

alright, i just went out and measured my car. there is about 5 1/2" of clearance between the top of the relay box and my battery. that sounds like enought room for me.

K what about the bends? Does this really do anthing. I'm sure the heat from the block and the tranny take a little power but its probably nominal. Also, I got another question: I was thinking of doing a Throttle body coolant bypass Mod but I confused myself. Are the two rubber hoses coming out to the left and right of the Intake manifold supposed to have anything flowing though them. I heated my car up for like 20 minutes and left them disconnected and nothign happened. What r they for??

Madison is a suburb about 15 minutes North of nashville. Does ur car get pretty hot pretty fast?? My Intake manifold is hotter than the red thing below it. It seems like recently, even on cool summer nights it heats up way to fast, so I don't see how a CAI could help me because its SOOO HOTT everywhere else. Have you tried the throttle body collant bypass?

It's quite normal for metal engine parts to heat up to the point that they will burn your hand,i personally try not to touch my engine when it's hot.

My vg is bone stock,no mods at all,I did however do the t/b coolant bypass on my ve,but i didn't notice any gains from it.(butt dyno)

i havent put a cai on my car, but other people have had to cut out a little part behind the headlight housing so the filter will fit to go down in the bumper.

You will need a maf adapter(don't know if your kit came with one)

You will need a hole saw to cut a hole in the fender well for the pipe to go through...

Pm if you have any trouble.

Hmm... Depends on what size you want. I wanted to keep it stock diameter so I made mine custom and drilled the holes myself. I've made two and they both work perfect, no air leaks, nothing gets in.

It's all over this entire thread.

Where will the filter go? It has to get into the fender somehow...
