shifter is vibrating

My shifter is vibrating between 2000-4000 rpms usually
2-4 gears. sounds like a tick in the tranny, but if I grab
shifter it stops. I was wondering if there is a way to
tighten the shifter? thanks all

Sounds like a input shaft bearing issue maybe..

I've searched 100's of posts on the input bearing issue and
mine never makes the noise if I hold the shifter. I wonder if
mine is something else or my holding it with my G.I Joe kung fu grip
prevents it from moving. Think I'll take the console out tomorrow
to see what we got.

seems to me like it's a sound coming from your shifter pivot deal. look under the car and see if anything is loose or what's tapping against something. it could also be inside the actual rubber shift boot, some metal ticking or something. doesn't sound like it's the input shaft bearing although your day will come
