What is involved in a VE tune-up?
What is involved in a VE tune-up?
Yes I know, kind of an assinine question, just curious what you guys think qualifies as a tune-up. Income tax time is soon, and I was hoping to pick up a Ypipe and underdrive pulley for my car, but figured I should start with a tune up first....SO what all should be replaced?
Plugs (obviously)
Fuel filter?
Air filter (is new and hopefully soon to be replaced with cold air set-up)
Problem is, I can't really think of anything else? Maybe some sea-foam? TB service?
Thanks!

You can change the belts if that hasn't been done. If you buy an UPD, new belts will be a part of that, since they are a different size.
Change the tranny fluid (AT) or gear oil (manual) is about the only other thing I can think of.

Plugs
Wires (does VE have wires?)
Air filter/soon to be CAI
Oil/oil filter
Fuel filter
PCV
Fuel injector cleaner
Grease up all moving parts
Make sure timing is correct
Make sure idle is correct
Check tire air pressure
Check Coolant temp sensor
Check O2 Sensor
Check/change gear oil
Check/change coolant/antifreeze
Check power steering fluid level (ATF)
Check brake fluid level
Check for uneven tire wear
Check brakes
Make sure all lug-nuts are secure and not loose
Check all vacuum, fuel, and coolant hoses for cracks or dryness
Clean battery terminals and cables with wire brush
check under car for any leaks
not quite a tune up but definately things that are worth doing/checking
have fun
