Just Payed off the Maxima!
Well, my check for the loan balance on the Maxima just cleared! Now I'm $500 poorer, but that means I 100% own all of my vehicles! Nevermind the fact I sunk 3 grand in mods into it last year alone (we all have our priorities). Bought it for 4 grand 3 1/2 years ago and now it's finally all mine!
More mods to come as soon as I sell the Arctic Cat sled and trailer sitting in my backyard...someone buy em!
Just thought I'd let y'all know...Anyone else out there still paying off their 3rd Gen?
Edit: Just sold one of the sleds!!!

My long-term goal is to have a Challenger by 2010. They are supposed to come out as a 2008 model, but I think the hype is going to be too much for me to pay considerable dealer markup.
I am just going to get rid of a lot of stuff. We are kind of going through the "minimize crap" phase. I only live 2 miles from my work and 2 miles from my wife's work, so neither has much of a commute. I don't see the need for two basically new vehicles right now. If I get rid of the Tundra, I am going to get another beater truck for a couple thousand and no payment and try to save for the Challenger.

Brian: I'll take that LTD and beat the **** out of it in the bush or enter it in a demolition derby if ya want to give it up...
Cliff: How 'bout a list of your current vehicles...from the sound of it you have two new trucks and a maxima. If you ditch the tundra you might as well hold on to the maxima as a second car...

I was only goofing, I had one about 10yrs back. Bought for $100, sold it for $500, got it back for free, gave it back and it allegedly threw a rod.
nowadays I've got nuttin' though i am considering the $100 camry that is sitting by the shop

It doesn't matter if I keep the Maxima or not. There is a road course being built close to me (should be finished this year) and I kind of want to get a car more suited for the track. An SE-R, Maybe an MR2 or Miata. It just depends. I like the Max, but I don't need to keep it.
you can drop a v6 into those MR2s, i'd definitely take a late 90s mr2 over a sentra se-r. not that you can't dump a 3.5 vq into the sentra, but still it's fwd. that's cool they're building a track over there. nice meet venue potential..

I do need to find a hood for it though. Big rust chunk missing, no rust anywhere else though

BUT the hood is the original hood, no body panels were replaced in the rebuild. The PO is getting me the pics of the car before the repair.
The PO had the car for about 5 years, and bought most of his parts from me anyhow, so i know the cars history. he wasn't even 100% he wanted to sell it, it was his baby.
it's already pulling down better MPG #s than the max did.

290 lb ft of torque helps ease the transition

too many cars in the drive (excursion, rodeo and STS)
he doesn't drive to work anymore so the car became pointless.
I said I was interested when he mentioned he was thinking of selling it.
lo and behold a bit later I bought it.

Hope it works out well for you. From what I've heard and from personal experience, those Northstar V-8's are big piles of ****. Hope yours has been maintained well.
