wiring

I'm installing some aftermarket reverse guage faces and I want them to only light up when the headlights (or running lights) go on like the stock ones. I found the cluster that controls the lights and it has a ton of wires. Anyone wanna save me a few wrong cuts by telling me exactly which wires they are that turn the dash lights on and off?

Duh, I found a much easier solution. You know that stupid little green light that helps you find your cigarette lighter at night? Only powered when the lights are on. Simple splice, headache free.

The wire that came with it was plenty long enough.

that means more places for it go bad. you always want the shortest wire length possible. IMO
