Transmission issue.

Ive used the search but since im not a paying memeber the google search is not all that hence me asking. Mines a 92 GXE auto and i noticed that lately when i go to put it in drive it dosnt do anything but if i move the shifter just past the "D" then goes in no problem. It dosnt seem to be slipping or anything so i was wondering if something could be adjusted instead of having to rebuild the tranny. I guy i work with has started to have the exact same problem. He says he just wiggles his shifter when he puts it in drive and it starts to work fine. Im sure others have had this issue so what did you do to fix? Help would be very appreciated.

^^^What he said, also, there are two of them. The one on the shifter can easily be accessed from underneath the car. The other one is at the transmission where the arm from the shifter connects to the tranny. Change them both. They are like a buck fifty each.

Real easy and makes a huge difference.
