Sorry about the blank, guess it didn't come out. Well, a friend of mine in Florida most recently installed a new 240 h.p. pathfinder engine which was taken out of a totaled pathfinder. He owns a 91 SE and fried his stock engine because of an insane shot of NOS. He claims that he did it but im skeptical about this....Does anybody know if its possible? If so is it a bolt on engine? thanks, hope to get a few replies

Ok did some research. The 240hp pathfinder engine won't work. It's a VQ35DE. There is no way, without spending mucho $$$, that engine will fit in a 3rd gen. Don't believe him.

Putting in a new Pathfinder engine is like swapping a 5th gen engine. You would need the tranny and the engine and all wiring harnesses. It's possible.. but it takes a lot of work. I would imagine countless hours of man-labor just trying to get the engine to fit with the tranny nicely with all the wiring hooked up.
