Grounds go bad all the time, and they complete circuits so not having them will cause all kinds of crazyness.

i think i might be having problems with these mysterious "grounds" to which you people refer. how might i be able to find the "grounds" and properly fix them? i am hearing clicking noises near the fuse box when the bose radio turns on and off repeatedly while the antenna motors up and down. sometimes i get nothing for a long time and then the radio does it again. not just the radio but the door locks go on and off too. if grounding issues are the source of crazy problems i might need to know how i can fix it. thanks.

to be more clear, for example when i put a tape cassette in the head unit i can hear it move so i know power is going to the head unit.

but there is no sound. i can see the fm/am light go on when i turn it on and it goes off when i turn it off but no sound. sometimes i can hear sound and see the numbers of the station like 98.7 below the fm light. but like i said it goes on and off.

if i get a new head unit and new speakers is there anything that can mess with it to keep it from playing properly? i noticed on the fuse box that there is a 10a for 'audio' and 20a for 'bose audio'. does the 'bose audio' fuse affect in any way a new headunit and its speakers? if my stock amps are busted will it prevent the head unit from showing the am/fm frequency on the display?

i want to get a new headunit but i'm afraid something else is the problem besides the headunit being broken. thanks
