For those living in the northeast region of the country or anywhere where rust can kill 3rd gens, did you guys (whether by requirement or personal choice) replace your windshields when the car was older than 12 years old?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm gonna get mine replaced, and just wondered for those who have here, whether you were surprised by any nasty rust found upon removal of the windshield that caused great distress, cost you extra money, or didn't enable replacement.

Should I be worried with a 14 year old car, or will I most likely be okay come removal?

 

If there is rust, it would be visible on the edge of the glass, thats where is would start anyway.
