Q45 Spoiler for max Done
Q45 Spoiler for max Done
here is some pics of the q45t spoiler that i retrofitted to fit a maxima First i made two cuts in the spoiler so that it would fit the max Believe it or not the max trunk is wider than a q45. Then use fiberglass to mold the two section back together and let cure for several hours i use a heat gun much faster.

last is sanding and primer. My car is all primer so i did'nt car about the paint itself

i am i just thought i would post a quick thread to show how the process was done
Bad photography. it was just something quick tooken that day with two different cameras. once my car is up and running i will get some better shots. after my engine is back in i will be taking it to a body shop for my paintjob hopefully before summer hits.

It fits VERY well with the white stillen kit. Not sure how well it would look with black.
I do really like nForces stillen type 1 spoiler for black max's...
Oh I just noticed the antenna, very nice! Im considering the same thing since my antenna is broken and the area around it is rusty...how hard was that to install?

i dont mind fabricating stuff, ill make it look good until im satisfied
looks like a fun project

Thanks for the input. I followed michael's last max that was sold to pervis not to long ago and thought how would his set-up look on my white max. So i did it and didnt like it on a white car. I did almost the same set-up with the exception of a few things. that was one badarse car. But as far as the spoiler goes i don't have much to do except mold it a bit lower in counjunction with the rear center valance, what a messy project to do. I hate working with fiberglass but once finished you get good results.
well if you remember i preferred the no spoiler look and only put a spoiler on (and removed the kit) because thats what PA wanted. i still like the no spoiler/stillen kit look the best. i was going to do something similar to you but use an old trunk lid and edges from my parts car quarters to build a small lip. then i decided to sell this car as well so i never started it.
i am not sure what a good paint job will run in az but i would guess $2500.

dude, you are my inspiration lol hope you dont mind but I think I'm gonna start considering the q45 spoiler for my car, its a nice clean look and its super affordable (for me at least! and maybe Alex)

Other than mine, that is the only other spoiler I have seen that I like on a 3rdGen. I think the Q45 spoiler really matches well with the body kit.

PA is OG...he isn't flashy and just likes the clean look of the stock body lines...its just his taste and it looks nice and classic. Plus I think he was worried about ground clearance.
I am not finished with my car to have any pics. Basically right now I just have the car in a million pieces (no trunk, bumpers, hood, doors, windows etc).
I will be painting it soon and believe me I will be showing pics then. Basically the car is going to look just like my other one did before PA bought it except it will have stock wheels...I am letting the new owner pick his own wheels to put on it later.
btw it will be painted by the end of next weekend. Maybe not put together but painted. All the body panels are slick now except the trunk. I have to block sand one more door, weld up the holes in the SE trunk (and prime/block it) and a few little things on the bumpers then I will be ready for sealer and paint.
ahahahahahha @ the bumper spoiler
i like that Q45 spoiler and the LED spoiler wings west sells that is fiber glass i think?
other than these spoilers, ive been thinking ofa GXE trunk bit with a LED bar recessed in the trunk. Kind of like the mustang trunk lids
BUT without the spoiler... cant find a damn good picture
"like sew"

hmm, thats not too bad either, I was thinkin of that last time. I saw a SHO at the JY today and the spoiler off one of those seems to go with the 3rd gen as well but who knows..

what the fugdecicle!!
what ever oddball person who did this has entirely too much time on his or her hands. there is no words to describe this but "what the fudgecicle"
that car is a waist of machinery just like that one 3rd gen with the twin turbo's and one of the turbo's pipes being inside of the car with the driver.
