Y-Pipe Options

So I am going to end up buying an aftermarket Y-Pipe for my 93 VE soon and was wondering some of the options. I know the Warpspeed Y-Pipe is probably the highest rated Y-pipe, or possibly the single best bolt on you can get for a 3rd gen. But I do a lot of city driving, and was wondering if there was something mandrel bent that was only 2 and a quarter in diameter; I would assume it would still keep my low end a bit more peppy, and still give much better flow for high end. I know Cattman used to offer a 2 1/4" pipe, but thought it went out of production? Anyway...

Have you guys lost much low end with the warpspeed, and is there anything I should know about them? How much faster should it make the car run quarter mile times, sound, durability, etc? Thanks for the input guys.

My purchases have come from all over. Some of my top picks are:

warpspeedperformance.com (y-pipe)
blehmco.com (brake & suspension upgrades plus a lot more)
courtesynissan.com (random stuff)
internetautosupply.com (everything else)

Do expect to lose a bit of low end torque. It really depends on how you drive, if you're mostly city driving and not revving the engine, then a y-pipe is probably not something you really need.

This thread is a good discussion of the trade-offs:

Yeah, I kept up with that thread a lot when you first posted it, but that was mainly because you did an entire 2.5" Exhaust set up, I'd be keeping the stock cat and everything after it. Not all of my driving is city driving, but a lot of it is (a relatively small city, but still crowded) Was just wondering if I'd feel the loss with JUST the Y-pipe in low end.

Plus, the Y-pipe I have now looks like it might be on it's last straw.

I have since switched back to stock after the cat. I still noticed a little bit of low end loss compared to stock y, but nothing like before (with full 2.5"). If your stock y is pretty much done, then I would say go ahead and put on the wsp. I've been driving on it now for a few months, mixed city and highway, and have no issues.

How about high end? Noticeable Difference?
