new mod - automatics only!
Now i havent heard of this being done before in the maxima, but i saw it done to an old nissan skyline in a mag the other day. I dont exactly know how to do it, but im sure it cud be done if we all put our heads together.
The mod is, cutting down the automatic shifter, so it doesnt stick up as tall as it does now. I reckon it looks ****in cool, however we all have our opinions, some may say its **** but its an idea, i hope u's all like it.
Please give me some input as to maybe how we cud do it, or if anyone has done it before let me no!

I understand the point....
it just basically for looks, he just wants to hack down the shifter **** so it will be closer to the selector...oh well its a different look, and it might look pretty nice with the Razo or Levloc automatic shifter ***** on it! I think the Razo would look nice! ---> http://secure15.dellhost.com/~d30022...****/ra-92.jpg(and check out the little pic on the package, I think thats the look "ekul" is going for
)
)
I think....
some of you are missing the point. its not for quicker shifts like in the 5spds. "short shifter" its for the look...thats about it! Like someone mentioned, some of the VW shifters are like this as well, not for performance but for the look...now as for how it will look on the Max's shifter, well thats a different story
well...
the auto shifter is basically a steel tube with a metal rod in the middle. if you want to lower the shifter you can cut the steel tube but you MUST cut the rod at the same length so the steel rod sticks out of the steel tube at the same height. can it be done?? sure...good luck

Later this evening, try MEESHELLE.
that is my girlfriends but I live there as well. But right now, I don't have access.
hahaha
Short shifter for an auto.... lol. No offense, I'm just laughing because it's pretty funny, soon enough we'll start adding a 3rd pedal to make believe we really have 5spds
Nah, like others mentioned, 1st thing I thought of was my friends 98 VW Golf. It looks pretty cool, I find it more comfortable too, a little more room with the dashboard and stuff, but the VW shifter is flat and wide, it looks better that way when it's low, I think the 3rd gen max shifter would look stupid as **** if it was cut down low, if u were to switch shift ***** and cut it low then it might look cool but then again, why do all of that so u can have a **** a few inches shorter.
