How hard would it be to do this..

would it be difficult to get these to fit nicely into stock headlight area? Also would be easy to splice the wire to work right? I really hate the stock headlight look and always wanted to do the e36 style conversion...

tell MrGone he needs to add some e36 threads to the mod info sticky.

you should also pay the $20 to use the search feature. It will pay for itself many times over. If you can afford e36 projectors, you can dish out some $$ to help keep this site in operation.

I did free search and found this out..

Here's craig's site http://www.geocities.com/craigbrace/
and here's some links for e36's http://www.geocities.com/bmwconversion/ and http://www.angelfire.com/trek/tko/bmw_conversion/

But would I have to buy a BMW wiring harness or Maxima one?

They are for the BMW lights, I would assume if you got them for the 1995 year you'd be all set

it doesn't matter what the harnesses are for. All you use are the ends of the plugs.

9005 and 9006 are the bulb part numbers and all you need are the ends that go into those bulbs (more than just BMW used 9005&6). They sell those pig tails at autozone and other parts places.

Just cut the ends off yours and splice the new connectors in.

#1 they will suck with output. unless its zkw/depo/hella the projectors in them suck. those are equivalent to the Ebay Honda lights. so if u bought those retro in a diff projector.

#2 those are plastic lenses... get glass.

#3 the blue led's are PO PO magnets

#4 none removable lenses = no halo capabilities, and if they fog u cant take apart and clean.

#5 black plastic = ricer IMO

I've read up and used the free search and found out some ways to make the E36's flush with the rest of the front end. But nothing really detailed. I see you can buy the Stock Looking Euro Maxima lights that are basically just clear and use that cover over the E36's to give it the correct contour (But that is a waste of money IMO) Or you can use the WADE covers... I've seen some wade's for sale in the classifieds but it looks like they'd cover the corner light assembly too, is that true? And if so... how does it look? Or do you just cut them? I'm pretty interested in doing the swap now, but I won't be able to stand it if the E36's don't look completely stock and nice.

Not trying to thread Hijack here nForce, Just figured some of the answers to this post might help you too...

keep searching...that has been documented as well. I cut the corner piece off and put them on as well as Craig B. Look at our cardomain sites and you will see pics. It looks factory if done right.

BTW james92SE has done the best job with the Wades. He actually went through the trouble of sealing his and they look amazing.

Yeah I saw both of you guys' lights and they both looked great, just was curious as to if you cut the Wade's because I couldn't find any text on it, it just looked like it. I'll go look at James' lights now to see how they look. Thanks for the reply

bixenon projectors... they have a high/low beam in same projector. the glare shield flips up from a selinoid and removes the cut off. making it brighter than ur lows+highs on together. read up.

i knew about flippy shields (in theory, at least) i just didn't see one, unless I just don't know what to look for, on that setup.

well high beams are defined as having high aim and higher light output, aren't they? not just the brightness..

Yes I know but still...I'm referring to them being bright as normal driving lights since I dont know if they have high beams. If they do then I'm sure those bad boys are BRIGHT!!!

do they all have that sort of jagged right-biased cutoff? or do some have a pure flat cutoff with a symmetric beam pattern?

there are 2 types of patterns. US spec and Euro. They are stepped up so that your lights light up road signs and pedestrians on the right of the road. the euros light up more but cause more glare. I personally made my own style cut off.

the straight across looks pretty cool but isnt the upsweep for the signs and such on the side of the road? How do they illuminate with the straight across cut off.
